1958 ~ HEPFNER ~ 2012

Tuesday, 21 February 2012 09:18

On Friday, February 17th, 2012 Debra (Debbie) Ann Hepfner nee Dell went to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ at the age of 53 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her beloved partner, Cliff Otto; her 3 children, Ryan (Amber) Hepfner, Derek Hepfner, and Amanda (Chris) Belanger. She is also survived by her mother, Mary Dell; 3 brothers, Richard (Bernice) Dell, Michael (Carol) Dell, Mark (Marina) Dell; and 2 sisters, Sandra (Daryl) Tornberg and Lucille (Adrian) Ryan; as well as numerous nieces and nephews and grand nieces and nephews. Debbie was predeceased by her father, Walter Dell. She was born on May 18th, 1958 in Empress, Alberta, then moved with her parents to Medicine Hat in 1959, where she resided until her death. Debbie graduated from McCoy High School in 1976 and began her married life the same year on a local farm. In 1978, she welcomed her first son, Ryan followed by Derek in 1980 then in 1984 Amanda joined the family. Her first endeavours came from her home where she loved to bake, sew and cook for her family and others. Once her children were grown Debbie fulfilled her dream of getting her hairdressing license. From there she went on to do numerous other jobs and was working for Savanna Drilling as a senior administrator at the time of her passing. Debbie loved to travel and see new places but her greatest joy and passion was her children and more recently her grandchildren. Just like her name sake in the bible she was a warrior right to the very end and her faith never waivered. We will miss you, till we see you again, you are forever in our hearts. “I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.” John 14:18. The Prayers will be held in SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday, February 21st, 2012 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at HILLCREST EVANGELICAL CHURCH, 3785 - 13th Avenue SE, on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2012 at 1:30 p.m. with Reverend Mark Bolender, officiating. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Debra’s memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 102 - 1865 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1Z8. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL AND CREMATORIUM, "The Chapel in the Park", locally owned and directed. Ryan, Derek, Amanda and families, We were so sad to hear of your Mom's passing. I had kept in touch with Deb on FB and it was fun getting caught up with her. We shared on Grandma moments and love for our grandbabies. Our hearts are heavy for your loss, and we will continue to pray for you all. May you all find comfort in your memories, and love you shared with your Mom. She would want you to keep your eyes focused on Christ. And gain comfort knowing she is dancing with Jesus and no longer in pain. With much love Wayne and Kris Mugleston

Cliff, Ryan, Derek and Amanda and Families,
May God wrap his arms around you to heal the sorrow in your hearts and may the memories of Debbie bring smiles back to your faces. I was in utter shock to read of Deb's passing but I am ever so grateful to have been able to have had those 2 visits with her and Cliff at Foothills hospital. Having only met you 2 in Ixtapa last year and been Facebook friends, I feel like I was closer to Deb than I was to my own sister. She was a very spiritual amazing person and I loved her dearly. I will miss you, Debbie. May you Rest in Peace. The Angels have won big in this battle. God Bless You!
