It is with immense sadness that we
announce the passing of Dana LaRue Pender (nee Harris), on Friday,
February 17, 2012 at the age of 45 years at St.
MichaelsPalliative
Care in Lethbridge. Dana is survived by her loving husband
Gordon, and their children: David (Clare), Thomas, and Joshua all
of Lethbridge. Dana is also survived by her parents Howard and
LaRue of Taber, mother-in-law Irene Pender, brothers: Bob (Judy)
of Taber, Todd of Toronto, sisters: Heather of Edmonton, and
Melissa (John) of Magrath, Alberta, brothers-in-law: Greg (Cindy)
of Saskatoon and Lee of Lethbridge. Dana was predeceased by her
brother Melvin Jay. Dana was born February 26, 1966 to Howard
and Larue Harris in Taber, Alberta. Dana attended school in Taber
and the Lethbridge College where she graduated with a business
diploma. Dana worked in the accounting field and was employed at
Mercer, Wilde, Moltz before her advancing illness forced her to
remain at home. Dana was an active member of the LDS church and
served in many callings. Dana was a wonderful wife and mother,
totally devoted to her family and her faith. Dana was an avid
quilter, making many beautiful quilts for her family and friends.
She loved to play the piano, and Dana always had a book with her
as she loved to read. Dana will be sadly and forever missed by her
loving family. The family would like to thank the Doctors and
nurses at the St. Mikes Palliative Care Unit in Lethbridge for the
loving care she received prior to her passing and the Doctors and
Nurses at The Lethbridge Regional Cancer Center. The Funeral
Service will be held at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day
Saints, Park Meadows Ward, 2223-6 A. Avenue North, Lethbridge on
Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with Bishop Brian Roelofs
officiating. Friends may meet with the family from 1:00 to 1:45
p.m. prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow at the
Mountain View Cemetery in Lethbridge. In lieu of flowers
memorial donations may be made to the Breast Cancer Society of
Canada, 240 East St. N, Sarnia, ON N7T 6Y5, St. Michaels
Palliative Care Unit, 1400-9 Ave. S, Lethbridge, AB T1J 4V5, or
the Lethbridge Cancer Centre, Rm. 2H209-960-19 St. S, Lethbridge,
AB T1J 1W5.
