Dorothea “Thea” Lee Hirsche of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, May 24, 2012, at the age of 22 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter, Jade Amara; her mother, Rose E. (John) Hall; her father, Robert (Barb) Hirsche; two grandmothers, Dorothea Wolf and Marion Penner; one sister, Katelyn Hirsche; her step-sister, Jennifer Hall as well as her aunts, uncles, cousins and childhood friends. She was predeceased by her grandfathers, John Wolf and Robert Hirsche. Thea was a free spirited, non-conformist who marched to the beat of her own drum. She was a loving mother who derived great joy from sharing in her daughters learning and laughter. Thea also loved to take long road trips in her car with the music turned up and the windows rolled down; sun in her face and wind in her hair. A talented artist, she loved to draw, write poetry, and express herself through photography. Tragically taken from those of us who truly loved her, she will be forever loved, remembered and missed by her family and true friends. A private family service will be held. To my beautiful daughter...soon your beautiful little girl will turn four years old. Her first birthday without you. She has already celebrated her first thanksgiving, her first Christmas, and her first Easter without you. We wish you could be here. She wishes you could be here. We will all miss you and be thinking of you on your baby's special day. You will be with us though, because she carries you within her. She is just like you; beautiful, bright, articulate, full of wonder, with a thirst for adventure. You left your mark on the world, she is the amazing proof that you were here. What an amazing gift you have given the world.

Thea would be very pleased to know that someone remembers and thinks of her. Thea was a beautiful, intelligent, articulate young woman. She had a kind and generous heart, always willing to give a person the benefit of the doubt and a second chance. Only a precious few truly knew how special she was. However Thea's spirit lives on in her beautiful and amazing daughter. We are blessed to see Thea everyday, staring back at us through her daughter's eyes.

Today I sat on my door step having a smoke and across the street a girl got into a silver sun fire, blonde hair glasses and I swore it could have been Thea but then I remembered. Thea we had a difficult start to out friendship but the last 4 months of your life I cherished having you around me and I'm glad I was able to help you in some parts of your life. You were able to be sober and be yourself around me and you told me you wished we could have been friends from the start. It ment a lot from me. In my eyes I rembember only the goof and block out the bad cause I know all you truly ever wanted to do was succeed in life. I miss you and think of you often and I wish your family the best. And I hope your young gorgeous daughter goes on to lead a extraordinary life, healthy and happy.
