Steve passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with his family by his side. Steve is survived by his mother, Eileen McGinley of Ireland; his four sisters, Kathleen (Terry) Davis of Ireland, Eileen (Geoff) Turtle of Ireland, Sheena (Mike) Folnovic of Regina, and Noleen (Eddie) Morrison of England; his three brothers, Frank (Michelle) Devine of Medicine Hat, Gerard Devine of Rouleau, and John (Kelly) Devine of Medicine Hat; ex-wife, Carmen, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Steve is predeceased by his father, Frank Devine; and two infant siblings, Ann Marie and Kevin Paul. Steve was born on January 3rd, 1962 in Glasgow, Scotland. His family moved to Medicine Hat, Alberta in 1967 where Steve attended school and lived the majority of his childhood and adult life. He soon followed the footsteps of his father into the construction industry where he found his art as a concrete finisher. Steve was well known in the concrete industry and was very good at his job. He was respected and admired by all of his co-workers. Everyone that knew Steve liked him and he will be deeply missed by many. A celebration of Steve’s life will be held at a later date. We would like to thank the staff at the Palliative Care unit and in particular Nurse Undershute for the care and comfort provided to Steve and his family throughout this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Palliative Care Unit at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital in memory of Stephen Devine.
