MR. EARLE ROBERTS of Lethbridge, beloved husband of Mrs. Ida Roberts, passed away peacefully, at the Chinook Regional Hospital on Wednesday, July 21, 2010 at the age of 91 years. Earle was born on May 26, 1919 on Roberts Island in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia. His parents were Arden and Evangeline Roberts. Earle attended elementary and senior high school in Glenwood and Yarmouth. He was a member of the Canadian Air Force for 25 years, serving overseas in WWII. After retirement from the armed forces at 50 years old; he worked for Canada Post for 15 years. He and Ida retired in Lethbridge in 1982.
Besides his loving wife Ida, Earle is survived by his daughter Glenda (Len) Shapka; son Earle (Nancy) Roberts; grandchildren Jennifer and Sam, Jonathan and Amber; 5 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces, nephews and their families.
Earle was predeceased by his parents Arden and Evangeline Roberts, and his brother Keith.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects between 12:00PM and 1:00PM, on Monday, July 26, 2010, at RIVER OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 18 Avenue, North, Lethbridge, Alberta.
A Funeral Service will be held at 1:00PM, on Monday, July 26, 2010 at the RIVER OF LIFE COMMUNITY CHURCH, 18 Avenue, North, Lethbridge, Alberta, with Dr. Bill Calderwood officiating. Interment will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery.
