Leila Rosie and was raised in Orkney, Saskatchewan.
Alarine and Dan were married in 1950 and started their life together
on a small farm at Hays. In 1968, as a result of Dan’s employment with
the United Grain Growers, they packed up their four children and over
the next ten years moved through the communities of Queenstown,
Raymond, Granum and finally Bow Island where they settled in 1978.
Alarine was employed by the Alberta Treasury Branch and was active in
supporting the community.
Alarine loved to garden in the summer and curl in the winter. She
was an accompolished seamstress and took pride in creating clothing
for her children. In her later years, she switched from curling to
being a "hockey grandma", cheering on her grandchildren at the many
games and tournaments.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Alarine’s name may be
made directly to the Parkinson’s Society of Southern Alberta, 1254 - 3
